How do you tower live rock in a salt water aquarium?
I have a 140 gallon Salt Water Aquarium at home and was wanting to know some ways as to how to tower the live rock without it touching the glass on the sides. The aquarium itself is about 4 feet tall and is bullet shaped meaning there the back is up against the wall and the sides stretch forward curving at the end in the shape of a bullet I currently have live rock along the bottom but all the fish seem to just hang out at the bottom so as to be around the live rock.Does anyone have any suggestions or way as to how to tower the live rock?
Do regular power filters decrease salinity in salt water aquarium?
I have a 46 gallon aquarium, for the past week I've been slowly converting it into saltwater, but it seems that every time I check the salinity it stays at 1.004...so far Ive added about three cups of salt total to the aquarium and the salinitly is still at 1.004, which seems a bit low for tha amount of oceanic salt I've added...Im trying to get it to brackish about 1.014 ...Im wondering if maybe my filter is catching the salt and keeping it from the aquarium. I have just a regular filter, not a biowheel, just an electric one that hangs from the back of the aquarium. maybe the amount of salt Ive added really isnt enough to raise the salinity in a 46 gallon tank but thought Id ask if maybe the filter could have something to do with it.THanksanswer to question I have a 40 50 gallon power filter...dont have enough money for a canister or slump at the moment. I bought green spotted puffers and the store I bought them from had them in fresh water, they need brackish to marine...i am mixing the salt water before putting it in the tank, but i am having to do the transfer slowly as to not shock the fish. I added another cup of salt today...salitnity went up by .002, it is now reading inbetween 1.004 and 1.008. Thank you for all your answers.

Should I start a tropical or marine (salt water) aquarium?
I had cold water fish gold fish which I kept for about 6 years, then let them go into a pond because they were growing and I'll be honest I wanted an upgrade... BUT they are a having a good life in a large pond so it's not entirely selfish . I have a tank 25g , filter, will get the heater and chemicals... basically, WHAT IS THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE?I know salt water are harder to keep but are more beautiful... what kind ofbudgett am I looking at for decent looking marine fish? Are they a lot harder to care for than tropical fish?
