I have a 20 gallon and 6 gold fishes, a fish that eats algae and a shrimp. My mom bought a box that say AQUARIUM salt. My tank is fresh water So are the fishes. But the box is for Fresh water. Can i put this in my aquarium it say it heals any damages and relief stress.THANK YOU
Can i add reef sand to my freshwater aquarium?
i have gravel but i cant see my african dwarf frog because he is the same color as the gravel is it ok to add reef sand from the ocean in my freshwater aquarium if i wash it and soak for 48 hours. i couldn't find sand for freshwater. i also read that it is cleaner to have sand because it doesn't have food hidden under it but on top so i can see it.not like taking it from the ocean but buying it from a pet store like packaged reef sand.this is the one that i want to get. is it good enoughpetco.com product 7452 Nature s Ocean Bio Activ Live Aragonite Reef Sand.aspx?CoreCat LN Shopping FishSupplies GravelandSubstrates
What are some good beginner freshwater aquarium fishes?
I want to start a simple, but classy, aquarium. I won a couple small goldfish at the fair yesterday and after researching them, I found that I would ultimately need about 30 gallons for them. 20g for first fish, 10g per fish afterwards . So I decided they would make a good addition to the goldfish pond in my backyard. But I still would like to start an aquarium. During my research, someone had suggested on another Y Answer to have a " center piece" fish and a school of smaller accent fish. This to me sounds really interesting and I like how they would compliment each other.So I guess my question is this What would be a recommended centerpiece fish for a first timer though I research well, use common sense well, and have a knack for these types of hobbies , what would be some good " accent" fish, and what size tank? I don't want to go really big, more like a 20 30g if I can get away with it. Thanks in advance MisterHighway
What's the best predator of snails for my freshwater aquarium?
I've got a large snail population in our 110 gallon, probably brought in on plants from the store. These are pond snails. What's the best fish to introduce as a predator? Freshwater tank with live plants, " South American" with angels, tetras and plecos. I've also got one yo yo loach who's become lazy over the past couple years I doubt he'd have the capacity to do this all on his own. Thanks.Oh come on.
