List of cold water aquarium fish?
There's a tl dr down at the bottom, since this is fairly long windedI'm looking to put together a small freshwater aquarium 10 20 gallons or less is about all I can afford, hence needing something small , and am looking for a list of relatively easy to care for, fresh, cold water fish. I already have 2 gold fish and 3 bettas The bettas are kept separate, in warm water, 2.5 gallon aquariums so I'm looking at something different to keep things fresh.I've used up about all the outlets in my room, which I keep fairly warm for my hermit crabs and bettas though they have heaters, the heaters are fairly weak to avoid roasting them , so this tank will be in the slightly cooler game room, hence the need for the fish to be tolerant of cooler temperatures. Besides that, if I hook up another filter and heater and bubbler and light setup, my parents will kill me over the electric bill.tl dr I need a list of fish that Can be in a group of 2 or more in a 10 20 gallon aquarimDon't require a heaterAren't gold fish or betta fishPreferably, I would like to know fish that don't take a bubbler, but that's not a mustI will research the fish individually myself, so you don't need to provide too many details unless you really want to.Also, if your answer is F ing STUPID, don't waste my time or fill up my inbox.
Information about a 25 watt stealth marineland heater for aquariums?
I bought a 25 watt stealth heater. I was wondering if it would work in a two gallon tank. I was also wondering how submerged it needs to be. It says that it has a safety shut off when it is out of the water however, there is a piece towards the top where the dial is that is thicker than the rest of it. I was wondering if that part can be left out of the water.I would like one that keeps the water at 78 degrees compared to one that just raises the temp X amount of degrees warmer than it already is.
Can i use just silica sand in my aquarium with plants and fish?
ok so i have a 150ltr tank and i want to have plants and fish inside it.what i want is to put sand in it silica sand but i am unsure if the plants will be ok.any advice that you have would be awsome and i thank you in advance.G
Starting new aquarium and need suggestions. ( i am a begginer)?
So like i said i am a begginer and have been doing some research on this and need some advise. I just got a 29 gallon tank and all the accessories, now i know that i might be ahead of myself because i still need to let the tank cycle, but i need ideas of what to put in my tank. i would like a few different breeds, and want some of every level top swimmers, bottom swimmers and middle, what would be a good combo and how many of each?
Would a 10 gallon aquarium with guppies need a light and/or heater?
I'm thinking about getting a bigger 10 gallon for some guppies that i have... would it require a light like a hood for it . Also does it need a heater? I think guppies do fine at room temp...also guppies don't jump do they? so i don't need a cover on it?
Are the trays under the gravel necessary in an aquarium?
We're setting everything back up after a major flood in our home. It looks like we lost a bunch of stuff out of our 50 gallon aquarium. Are the trays that go under the gravel necessary? I can't find them on online aquarium stores.
What type of fish could I have in a very small (1 gallon) aquarium?
I don't have very much space for the tank dorm room living , but I'd like to keep a fish. Also, a snail would be pretty cool, but I have no idea about how much space they need. Can anyone recommend species of fish snails that could live in such a small tank? Also, I do have an aerator, but do I need it for a 1 gallon?
Can aquarium snails carry a disease?
I just got 2 baby snails from a pet shop, they gave them to me for free because " they just come on the plants living plants and we don't even want them" .so I'm wondering if they may have been carrying something and the pet shop people didn't tell me, after i got them my Betta got sick, at first i thought it was just the cold, but then he got like, fungus on him earlier today, i got some stuff to help off my gf, but it was to late, i just cam home and he was dead.
40 gallon aquarium question?
I have a pleco, three angels, and two tetras in a 10 gallon tank. I want to move them into a 40 gallon tank. Is this still too small of an enviornment or are they okay being in a 40 gallon.
Why is the water at the top of my aquarium bubbly?
I hav a 20 gal aquarium with 3 glo fish, 4 snail and 2 ghost shrimp. I have 2 small bubble stones. Why is the water at the top full of bubbles? They used to run thru the bubbler and disapear.
