Why do my aquarium lights keep catching fire?
I have a US Perfecto 24" Fluorescent strip light. The first one literally caught fire. This is my second light and it is producing that smell that indicates that the end is near, and it may also catch fire. I live in the UK, but I have a home that has 110V US outlets. Can anyone give me any reason that this is happening? What can I do to fix it?I read something about having to invert lights to DC 12 or something? I don't know.. Any information would be appreciated.I am using the original bulb the light strip came with. It is a Perfect A Strip Safe Aquarium Strip Reflector 24" this time. It was another brand model the first time it burned.

Is a Current Nova Extreme x4 a good lighting structure for a FOWLR setup and maybe in the future a marine aquarium? How would one make the lights dim on and off so they do not scare the fish?Lastly, what would be needed to give the water a deep blue color at night? Thanks.yeah sorry, meant to say future reef aquarium instead of future marine aquarium.

Can I use a blue aquarium light for my hermit crabs?
I know I asked the question yesterday but I didn't really get the answers I was looking for.I don't have any hermit crabs yet because I want to stabilize temperature and humidity in their tank first.Okay, so on Thursday I purchased a blue aquarium light bulb. It is not a moon glow bulb. I just says " Blue Aquarium Light Bulb" on it.I tried it in the tank and it brings it to the perfect temp. And it is not very bright and it is only over half of the tank. However, my problem is that right now that is the only way I am heating the tank. And I am wondering if the blue light will bother them at night. I don't think that it will be too bright for them. I know that they need a day night cycle to regulate their metabolism. The room that they are in has PLENTY of natural light during the day. Will the natural light that they receive during the day be enough for them to regulate their metabolism if I leave the blue light bulb on 24 hours a day as it is not very bright ?

Saltwater aquarium light?
If you have a JBJ compact flourecent light fixture for a 125 gallon aquarium, could you keep coral with the light? The light holds 2 fixtures. Im wanting to get started into a reef aquarium but am not sure if the light fixture is made for a reef. If this light is not made for a reef, what kind of light should I get?
